Hey ya'll. I'm Elliot, I moved back to Raleigh in 2012 after living briefly in California, Oregon and Durham. I love weird mathy grind stuff and stupid sad singer songwriter music. My first band was a strange and destructive metal band called Church of Vermin which broke up earlier this year. We will be releasing the last EP we recorded sometime in Spring 2014. I currently play drums in a grindcore/black metal band called Lesser Life (which is really a front for us to play deathcore riffs without being judged). We have a new EP recorded which is due out sometime in 2014. I've also got a new hardcore project in the very beginning phases with Ryan and Dave where I will ditch the drumset to yell and swing a mic at you.
I book shows with Primitive Ways records and occasionally on my own. I go to any show that seems interesting to me. I live in 5 points area with my cat Marrowind and Ira's two cats Simon and Noelle (and occasionally Ira himself). We're a feline friendly household. I drink $1.50 drafts at Lily's pizza every Monday and am always looking for new people to hang and jam with.
I still think Operation Ivy is a cool band.

First, glad this is here. I asked Jeff at Sorry State how people find out about shows and all he said was "Look for flyers?" Maybe he thought I was a cop. I'm not a cop.
My name's Vincent. I grew up here and just moved back after spending 13 years in Chicago—it's pretty amazing to see how much Raleigh's changed. Good job, all.
Back in the early aughts, I was the Music Director at WKNC 88.1—part of the team that transitioned the commercial hard rock/metal format to its current "college alternative" rotation (sorry?). I also had a Saturday night punk/hardcore/indie/emo radio show called Out of Step, which looks like is sorta still around as Shut the Punk Up. If any of you remember when Crooked Beat Records was around, I was a clerk there. I wrote for a bunch of zines like HeartattaCk, Punk Planet, MRR, and Chunklet back when print was viable. Now, I'm back in the Triangle to help out with the family business, continue doing graphic design, and to settle down with the wife. ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz.
Hellbender was seriously underrated.

I'm David gallagher. I've lived in raleigh since 1989 (I was 4 yrs old) and i don't see myself going anywhere else. I've been in a few bands starting in 98-99 or so. First band (the embarrassing high school band) was the simpletons with Travis (RBT, OLD CODGER). After that was a short lived band I played bass for called Dr. Gnarly with Joel g (street sharks, brain tumors) and Eric m (sickoids, Direct control). Only highlight was playing a show at the foundation with Florida's Runnamucks. That ended around 2003. After that I went through a weird phase and started hanging out with a different crowd and lost touch with all my homies. Which ended up being the most lame thing I could ever do because it seemed like hardcorepunk blew up around then. But here I am now, back in it and I absolutely love it. I love all the people I've met so far, and all the bands around here are insane good! I currently play guitar/vocals in Vacant Planet with Ryan (child support) and Andrew (metal head asshole), drums in a new band called Animal Chin with mike d(lung matter), christophe (former abuse.), Nick (gorbash, land jaws) and Nick t (thieves), and guitar in the newest band with jeff, daniel, dave, and ira (all of these dudes are/used to be in so many killer bands). Weeeelp, That's it for band stuff. Thanks for reading this far, I figured some of you don't know my history in raleigh and might want to know a little. If you ever see me, say hey.

I'm Hannah. I'm the singer/guitarist of Corporate Herpes and the guitarist for No Chodes. I'm starting to organize house shows in the area and it'd be rad if someone wanted to organize something with me. I'm also sick of the white male dominated punk scene in Raleigh and every where else and I'm determined to change it.

I'm also sick of the white male dominated punk scene in Raleigh and every where else and I'm determined to change it. The raleigh punk scene is awesome, and most of the people are pretty supportive. I don't think anyone actively tries to exclude women or anything, there just aren't that many girls who go to shows at the moment. Definitely excited to have more ladies in bands in raleigh!
