FORWARD: Legendary hardcore from Japan!
Forward features the vocalist from legendary Japanese punks Death Side, but at this point they've been around longer and put out far more records than Death Side ever did. I've been lucky enough to have seen Forward live several times and they always deliver some of the heaviest, catchiest, and best traditional Japanese hardcore in the world. It’s very rare that Japanese punk bands are able to do full US tours like this, so don’t miss this rare opportunity to see these legends without driving halfway across the country!
LONG KNIFE: A newer Portland band with releases on Feral Ward and Black Water Records who have been turning a lot of heads lately with their heavy, angry hardcore heavily inspired by the classic Poison Idea Records. I haven’t managed to see these guys yet but their records are great and everyone tells me they’re one of the best live hardcore bands in the world right now, and they’d have to be to have the balls to tour with Forward!
SKEMÄTA: Raleigh’s leaders of the hardcore pack return once again to The Maywood. Heavy, complex, and furious… you know what to expect and you know these guys deliver every single time. Maybe they’ll even have their new LP on Sorry State in time for this show?
MICRORAVE: The new project from N≠ck G≠≠d≠ of Brain F≠ and Joint D≠ fame, Microrave are a little less hardcore than those bands… Nick’s undeniably catchy guitar playing is still center stage, but they’ve augmented things with some synths and a jagged take on Fall / Country Teasers-style punk.
