Here are a few of mine:
Direct Control / Strung Up @ the Thrashatorium: No idea what year this was... maybe as early as like 2004 or something? Anyway, Strung Up, for my money, are one of the most underrated modern hardcore bands, and they absolutely killed it. Total wild house party vibes... maybe VX (pre-Cross Laws) also played?
Government Warning @ the Thrashatorium: The first time GW played Raleigh. This is the show that inspired the formation of DN (apparently Scott brought all of the then-potential members of the gig with an eye toward making them form a punk band) and it was WILD. Brian Walsby wrote a comic about it in one of the early Manchild books.
Sorry State Fest w/Direct Control, Libyans, Devour, Shards, Double Negative, Logic Problem, and Stripmines; total good vibes and one of the best shows I've ever played. This was LP's first show after a year-long hiatus and people went nuts.
Shitty Limits, Logic Problem @ Morgan St: Our next-to-last show of tour and our homecoming gig after like 7 weeks on the road that summer in the US. There are pictures from that show online and it looks like the building is falling in around us. So much fun...
I'd put more Double Negative shows on here but they were pretty much great every time so it's hard to pick. C'mon people, help me jog my memory about all of the great shows we've had!

Anything on Flint Place was amazing.. lots of Double Negative shows there.
Asschapel at the Thrashatorium was pretty insane.
CoC house show was definitely the craziest show.. rivaled only by that Morgan St. house that larger indie band played, blanking on their name.

The two that instantly come to mind for me are the Coke Bust house show in 2010 and the final Stripmines show. I will never forget those. What else... hmmmm...

I think one of my favorites is definitely the Born Bad show at BCHQ. Even though it was "technically" in Durham, it still counts. I think it was late 2007 or early 2008. Good amount of people there. The flyer read Devour's first show (even though it was really their second), Socialcide (who had Brandon Ferrel fill in on drums that night), Double Negative, and Born Bad. But what ruled is that other bands jumped on too. Logic Problem played, and then Government Warning played a surprise set!! Here some pictures from the show. I think Nick Goode from Logic Problem took these. Some old familiar faces. I'm pictured in the middle left in the first one: Crowd shot. GOVERNMENT WARNING DEVOUR

Didn't Cross Laws play the Vicious show at GSS? Maybe I'm remembering wrong, or maybe we played the earlier show at (old) King's... can't remember. Anyway, I'm not really a Vicious fan but that was a killer show.

My favorite shows of 2013: -A lot of them were during Hopscotch liiike Pissed Jeans, Pig Destroyer, The Breeders, Earl Sweatshirt (where I broke my glasses), Sleep and lots of others I can't remember because it was my last weekend of drinking ever. I thought I was about to miss Whatever Brains and I was starving so my most dignified moment of Hopscotch was eating a hot dog alone in a bathroom stall at Kings with haste. I also licked the guy from Pissed Jeans. -Retox w/ Melt Banana at the 506. -Lots of good shows at Mattress Fort. The best ones being my homies from Ghostt Bllonde. -Pie Face Girls. -That mostly girl show at In The Groove Records with Wet Brain.

Yesss. The Wet Brain show was awesome. Also Cola Freaks at GSS (I think that was the last GSS 1 show?), that Slang practice space show, the White Lung/Nu Sensae show at Kings, and Foreign Objects at the Berkley.

I'd have to agree with Gingerdick, One of my favorite "Raleigh" shows would have to be the Born Bad gig in Durham back in 2008. Coinciding directly with that show was the night before I believe on new years @ Gss2 with Devour(first show, In Defence and some other bands. That night I slept outside of Lily's Pizza in 20 degree weather with my buddy Justin because we were supposed to crash at ira's that night, but he ditched us for some party or whatever.. I'll never forget.
ANYWAY
Dennis Fest was fucking rad. and who can forget the Slang/World Burns to Death/Stripmines/Fast Death Practice space show in 2010. Right after the Slims show, around 2 AM Slang and aforementioned bands played an all ages show for the kids who weren't able to get into the slims gig at the practice space.
also I can't remember the year, but the first time Wasted Time and Government Warning played @ GSS in 2007(I believe It was?)
I honestly could go on forever, too many awesome shows here in Raleigh within the past 8 years.

In my time in Raleigh, most of the house shows were elsewhere. The 90s were kind of vapid for Oak City fun.
His Hero is Gone / E-150 / Catharsis at some weird magic shop in Greensboro. Right before E-150 was set to play, a huge stampede of naked punks came charging in from the parking lot—the astonished looks on their faces was pretty priceless.
Melt Banana / Anti-Flag (I think?) at The Caboose was pretty ridiculous. I don't think anyone was really prepared for Melt Banana.
Spazz at Backdoor Skate Park in Greenville. Just so many people and nearly everyone freaking out.
Sleepytime Trio / 400 Years / Milemarker at the Lizard and Snake Cafe in Chapel Hill was a total fire hazard.

I saw Spazz on that same tour at a skate park in VA Beach. 'Twas ill indeed.

My first punk show that i went to was Torch Runner, Curmedgeon, Abuse, Pure Scum and Mad Dog at kings in january of 2012. I was friends with eli and just went to check out his band, and ended up discovering a scene i had no idea existed
